THERE were major celebrations at Treviglas Sixth Form, Newquay, following the release of A Level and BTEC results, which reflect two years of exceptional hard work, dedication, and perseverance from the students.

With a high overall pass rate across both academic and vocational pathways, Year 13 students have secured places at top universities and higher education providers across the country, spanning a diverse range of disciplines from Fine Art to Agricultural Business Management.

Joanne Handford, head of Sixth Form, said: “We are all incredibly proud of our students today. They have worked exceptionally hard over the past two years and these well-deserved results are a reflection of that effort.

“They are wonderful young people, and we know they will go on to accomplish great things."

Among the individual success stories celebrated were:

  • Elodie achieved an A* in Fine Art alongside outstanding grades in History, Biology, and an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). She will now head to Falmouth University this September to study Fine Art.
  • Lilly achieved a B in Photography alongside A Levels in Drama and Art, and will join Elodie at Falmouth University to study Photography.
  • Katie secured an A* in Criminology alongside top results in History and Sociology. She has accepted an offer to study Media, Communication and Cultural Studies at Newcastle University.
  • Megan earned a Distinction* in Business, as well as strong results in History and Criminology, and is off to the Royal Agricultural University to study Agricultural Business Management.
  • Lowenna achieved a Distinction* in Business alongside impressive results in Sport and English, securing her place to study Childhood Education at Truro and Penwith University Centre.
  • Jess earned Distinctions in Sport and Business and a B in Criminology, securing her place to study Sport Coaching and PE at Plymouth Marjon University.
  • Sammy achieved an A in English alongside strong results in History, Sociology, and an EPQ, accepting an offer to study Sociology at Lancaster University.

Commending the students’ successes James Rogers, headteacher at Treviglas, added: "I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to our Year 13 students on their brilliant personal achievements. They have not only earned fantastic results but have also developed invaluable life skills during their time at Treviglas.
