A PRE-application ‘targeted planning performance agreement’ has been submitted by Cornish Metals for the revision of the currently approved surface development at South Crofty Mine at Pool, to allow the development of a split processing plant and ancillary development.

A supporting statement says: “The proposed split processing plant and ancillary buildings are currently being designed. There is a need for these buildings to be in place to facilitate the processing of tin ore in June 2028.

“The need to determine whether we build the currently approved ore processing facility, or this revised split processing facility, is therefore urgent in order to meet this deadline.”
