AN outline application has been submitted for the construction of a roadside hotel and restaurant, with associated access and infrastructure on land next to the A30 at Chiverton Cross, Blackwater, near Truro.

If approved, the hotel will include a maximum of 41 rooms across two storeys, with parking for 67 cars, two coaches and six disabled parking bays.

The site is located opposite the Chiverton Arms pub and near a Starbucks coffee shop and two petrol filling stations.

The proposal is a resubmission to extend existing permission which was granted in 2015 and renewed in 2019 and 2022. Some matters (appearance, landscaping, layout and scale) are reserved for a later planning stage.
