VOLUNTEERS took part part in a ‘hedgetravaganza” to help boost biodiversity at a community garden in Newquay.
Three hundred and 70 trees were planted at the Polwhele Permaculture Garden to help create a new hedgerow.

The Woodland Trust donated the trees.
Organiser Tristan Holmes said: “The UK has lost over 50 per cent of its hedgerows since World War Two, removing vital habitat for wildlife.
“Every hedge planted helps rebuild natural corridors, supports pollinators and restores landscapes.
“We're so grateful to everyone who came out to volunteer.
“Thanks to Booker for the refreshments and Newquay Town Council for the equipment and mulch.”
A Newquay Town Council spokesperson added: “A huge thank you to everyone who helped. It is an amazing boost for our green spaces and local wildlife.”
