KEEN twitchers flocked to attend an organised birdwatching trip in Newquay.

Eight nature and wildlife enthusiasts attended the RSPB Kernow Local Group Connect with Nature event held at Towan Headland.

They saw 17 species of birds including four Chough, eight Jackdaw, two Carrion Crow, four Rook, two Magpie, two Gannet, 30 plus Herring Gull, four Great Black-backed Gull, five Oystercatcher, six Cormorant, three Purple Sandpiper, 20 plus Turnstone, five Stonechat, one Wheatear, one Rock Pipit, three Meadow Pipit and 30 plus Starling.

Rowena Castillo-Nicholls, RSPB Kernow Local Group Leader and Publicity Officer for Cornwall Bird Watching and Preservation Society organised the event, which was run by field trip leader Rob Nicholls.
