A spokesperson for Newquay Tretherras said: “Students arrived in style under beautiful summer sunshine, making a spectacular entrance to mark the end of their secondary school journey.

“The excitement was clear to see from the moment they arrived, with everyone looking forward to a well-deserved evening of celebration.

“Although the weather had one final surprise in store, with students leaving amid a dramatic summer storm, it did nothing to dampen the atmosphere. The evening was filled with smiles, laughter and friendship from beginning to end.

“Prom provided an opportunity for students to celebrate not only the completion of their GCSE examinations, but also the friendships they have built, the experiences they have shared and the many achievements they have accomplished during their time at school.
