HUNDREDS of people packed into Truro Cathedral for a heartwarming evening of carols in aid of international disaster relief charity ShelterBox, hosted by presenter and author Fern Britton with Harry Glasson - composer of Cornwall My Home – as special guest.

Supporters, volunteers and staff also gathered on Thursday, December 4, and The Rotary Club of Redruth served mince pies and mulled wine.

The organisation has supported more than three million people in around 100 countries in the 25 years since it was founded by the Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard.

Head of supporter engagement Emily Mullen said: “Seeing so many people standing side by side in such an iconic venue was a beautiful reminder of what happens when a community comes together. Every song sung and every pound raised supports families around the world rebuild after disaster."
