PLANS have been proposed to enhance the CCTV coverage at Newquay’s skate park following a spate of vandalism.
Newquay Town Council is recommending releasing £3,000 from its CCTV fund to install two cameras at Concrete Waves.
The scheme aims to improve the coverage of the park, including the new extended area, toilets, and bins.
It follows the public toilets at the skate park having to be closed temporarily after they were vandalised.
The town council’s environment and facilities voted unanimously to engage with Enerveo for the procurement and installation of two cameras following receipt of a revised quote of £3,375.56
The town council’s community and tourism committee is due to discuss the scheme at its meeting on Tuesday, January 13. The full council is due to have the final say on whether the funding is released from the CCTV fund.
