A NEWQUAY bowling club is taking part in a free national initiative to help boost numbers enjoying the sport.
The West End Bowling Club is staging the Bowls' Big Weekend on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26, between 11am and 4pm.
Those interested can have a go at bowling, with the help of members, and see if they fancy taking up the game.
A club spokesperson said: “Bowls is great fun and there is also an active social side. Come along and give it a go. West End boasts magnificent views of the north coast and we also have a very reasonably priced bar. Cash only. There is no pressure to join, just have some fun.”
People taking part should wear flat trainers or shoes will be provided, along with suitably-sized bowls. Parking is available at nearby car parks in town.
