BUSINESSES have been praised for helping to create a festive atmosphere in Newquay this Christmas.

Sunny Days in Fore Street was judged as the winner in Newquay BID’s annual Christmas shop window competition. On the Lash in East Street was awarded second place.

Newquay BID manager Mark Warren said: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Newquay BID Christmas window competition this year.

“The creativity across town was fantastic and really helped spread festive cheer.

“Sunny Days truly wowed us with their incredible handmade nutcrackers crafted from plant pots. We loved the creativity behind the idea and the clear time and effort that went into making them. The window was beautifully finished off with a real Christmas tree inside and festive decorations throughout the entire shop, a wonderfully Christmassy display.

“On The Lash impressed us by perfectly combining aesthetic design with artwork, creating a stylish and festive window that really stood out.

“A special shout-out to Specsavers for their brilliant Grinch drawing, hand-drawn by a member of staff a fun and festive touch that definitely made us smile.

“Well done to all involved and thank you for helping to make Newquay feel so festive this Christmas.”
