THE multi-talented Tree Stewart will be flying high as she juggles her way through three ventures at this year’s St Ives September Festival.
Tree, a regular annual Street Entertainment attraction around the harbour and Fore Street with her contact juggling routine, will also be taking to the stage and the trapeze this year.
The vocalist and keyboard player is one quarter of locally-based art rock band The Emarald Dawn who will be headlining at St Ia Church on Monday September 15.
They are returning to their home-town festival after a 10-year absence ahead of their latest CD release The Land, the Sea, the Air (Volume 1) on October 7 and will feature music from the new recording.
“Volume One draws attention to some of the things that we have done to the air and sea in particular,” reveals Tree – and Volume Two will follow next year.
Tree will be back on the streets with her mesmerising contact juggling routine on the second Saturday of the Street Entertainment on Saturday September 20, accompanied once again by barrel organ exponent Tony Krygier.
She is also the founder and an instructor with Sky High Arts, the aerial dance and circus arts group, who will be running four workshops at The Island Centre during the September Festival.
They will be holding a balance workshop on Tuesday September 16, over 60s aerial circus class on Friday September 19, mindful movement and meditation and an introduction to aerial circus arts on Tuesday, September 23.
“Always wanted to run away with circus? Think you are too old? Think again,” said Tree. Further details can be found at www.stivesseptemberfestival.co.uk
