A serious road traffic collision took place on Friday [January 9] near Truro, and Devon and Cornwall Police is appealing for witnesses to come forward.

At 5.35pm, officers were notified of a two-vehicle road traffic collision involving a Blue Kawasaki motorcycle and a white Citroen Relay motorcaravan on an unclassified road near Chacewater.

The rider of the motorcycle, a local man in his 30s, received serious injuries as a result of the collision. His pillion passenger, a local woman, received less serious injuries. Both were treated by air ambulance before being conveyed to Treliske Hospital. The driver of the motorcaravan was uninjured.

The road was closed for approximately four hours to allow a thorough examination of the scene and for recovery of the motorcycle.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team are investigating, and ask for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information or dashcam footage that could help with enquiries.
