BUSINESSES sponsoring a colourful charity run being staged at RAF St Mawgan have been thanked for their support.
Representatives from eight local businesses supporting Children’s Hospice South West’s Rainbow Run were invited to a special afternoon at the airbase.
The headline sponsor of the event is Kernow Coatings; the market leader in high-performance coatings for the print industry.
Paint station sponsors also include Steve Andrews Tyres, Biffa, Happy Days Nurseries, Moose Toys, St Ewe Eggs, Kellys of Cornwall and Groundshore.
The event was a special opportunity for the charity to show its appreciation and for a bereaved mum to share why the charity’s support is so important for families like hers.
Rainbow Run is making its annual return at RAF St Mawgan on Saturday, June 20.
The support of the businesses means that even more of the money raised by those taking part in the event will be able to go directly to funding the vital care the charity provides. Last year the event raised £107,000.
Kiley Pearce, events fundraiser at Children’s Hospice South West said: “These eight incredible businesses have a combined sponsorship of £15,500 which helps greatly in covering the cost of the event.
“Over 1,000 people have already signed up to take part and experience getting covered in powder paint, of all colours of the rainbow, while they walk, jog or run the flat 5km route.”
Children’s Hospice South West provides hospice care for babies, children and young people living with life-limiting conditions and their families at its three hospices across the south west including Little Harbour in St Austell.
The event is open to anyone over the age of five. Tickets have 10 per cent off until Tuesday, June 2, pricing at £18 for adults and £9 for children aged five to 15.
