ENTRIES for the competitive classes at the Cornwall Garden Society’s 2026 Spring Flower Show have been extended to Wednesday, March 18.
The event will celebrate the very best of a Cornish spring at the Royal Cornwall Showground on the weekend of March 28 and 29, offering two days of horticultural inspiration, family-friendly activities, expert talks, show gardens and exceptional competitive exhibits.
Gardeners and growers are invited to enter a wide range of classes, including ornamental trees and shrubs, magnolias, camellias (specimen blooms and sprays), rhododendrons and azaleas, daffodils, herbaceous, rhizomatous and other bulbous plants, pot plants, alpines and floral art (judged in accordance with NAFAS Competition Fourth Edition 2023).
Cornwall Garden Society (CGS) chairman Martin Petherick said: “Once again, the show promises to demonstrate the incredible range of plant varieties produced during a Cornish spring. Following the disruption caused by Storm Goretti to many Cornish gardens, this year’s event also stands as a testament to the resilience, skill and determination of growers across the county.
“We are keen to encourage as many people as possible to take part in the competitive classes. You don’t need to be a CGS member and there is no fee for exhibiting. We’re especially pleased to welcome first-time exhibitors through our dedicated Novice Section, which is designed to make showing accessible and enjoyable.”
Exhibitors are reminded that the use of flower foam is not permitted, in line with current guidance. To find out more, or to enter, visit cornwallgardensociety.org.uk/spring-flower-show/schedule-of-classes.
