MEMBERS of Court Pendennis of the Foresters Friendly Society spent an enjoyable day at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth, combining history, friendship and plenty of good company.

The outing began with coffee before the group set off to explore the imposing fortress, its atmospheric old barracks and the many displays charting centuries of Cornish and military history.

After a sociable lunch, there was time for a browse in the gift shop, where several members picked up souvenirs to remember the day.

Laughter and conversation filled the day, and everyone agreed it had been a thoroughly enjoyable visit — indeed 'a barrel of laughs' as member Ken pointed out.
