POLICE are appealing for witnesses and relevant footage following a fatal road traffic collision near St Ives. The collision involved a black VW Sharan private hire taxi and a black VW Polo. A 47-year-old passenger in the Sharan was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro where she later died.

The collision took place at the junction of Towednack Road and the B3311 Halsetown Road at 4.40pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses that have not already spoken to them but who may have seen the collision, or anybody with dash-camera footage at the time or prior to the incident, to get in touch via the Devon and Cornwall Police website, or by calling 101, quoting reference number 50260047846.
