A COMMUNITY garden in Newquay is a family-friendly event on Saturday (June 21) to mark the longest day of the year.
Newquay Orchard is holding its much-loved Summer Solstice Fayre to celebrate community, creativity, and connection.
The main stage line-up at the Heart & Soul Café includes a Gardeners’ Question Time, Groundswell Poetry Showcase, folk Americana duo The Gleaves as well as jazz choir The Velvet Hour.
Workshops and activities across the Orchard will include a Raku Bonfire Workshop with Alma Arts and Robin Sullivan, Kids Crafts with Imagine Outdoors, Heart Sauna Sessions,
4Motion Dance and yoga workshop | The Forest Garden as well as Newquay Orchard Bioblitz, nature games and a scything demonstration.
A marketplace will be organised in the community field showcasing an eclectic mix of local produce, art, books, crafts, jewellery, and wellness items from Newquay Orchard, Growing Futures, Grown by Newquay Orchard, LunaFlow Jewellery, Clay Makes Designs, Ollie’s Books, Coastline Craft Studio, Ayia & Co., MushLove Cornwall and Atlantic Brewery & Distillery.
An Orchard spokesperson said: “This free, family-friendly event promises a vibrant day of entertainment, workshops, markets, and local food, all set within the lush surroundings of Newquay Orchard.
“Visitors can expect a packed programme of live music, arts, wellbeing experiences and children's activities – plus a thriving makers’ marketplace showcasing some of Cornwall’s finest independent creators.”
