A NEWQUAY woman is organising a meet up for disabled people after seeing how isolating they can become from the world.

Jo Ulczak, who sustained a severe brain haemorrhage, is inviting disabled people to connect over coffee at the Steam Bar in Cliff Road on Tuesday, October 14 at 10.30am.

She came up with the idea after publishing the book The Mask That Always Smiles, which aims to help disabled people on their road to recovery. The event is for adults living with physical disability and mobility impairment.

Jo said: “Following on from my book it has opened my eyes to seeing how disabling and isolating people become from the world owing to a disability.

“This has given me the influence to bring people living with disability together for a coffee meet. I really look forward to meeting everyone.”
