THE community is being invited to help plant a new woodland in Newquay.
The Big Newquay Tree Plant will help create Trenance Community Woodland at Trenance Park on Wednesday, February 18 between 10am and 5pm.
Forest for Cornwall is looking for volunteers to help plant 500 trees, including an orchard, to support local wildlife, increase tree canopy cover and create a space for everyone to enjoy.
A spokesperson said: “Join Forest for Cornwall to help create Trenance Community Woodland, a new green space for Newquay, planted by the community.
“Come along to plant your own tree and watch it grow for years to come.
“Booking is not a requirement, but it will help the team to have a better idea of how many people are coming and to ensure that there is enough equipment for everyone. Please note children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.”
