Mayor Drew Creek officially opened the new family run eatery on Wednesday, May 21, which was attended by family and friends.

Yadu has worked in various countries during his 40-year cooking career including five years in Germany, three years in India and 30 years in the UK.

Co-owner Tipson Gill said: “We are pleased and excited to open the new restaurant.

“This is new territory for us, but the staff are very experienced, especially our chef.

“We previously worked in the care industry in the UK and now we’ve decided to open a restaurant to serve the community and provide a quality service.

“We want to offer the best Indian and Nepalese food and introduce new dishes to Newquay. We want to cater for local residents and people on holiday as well as host events for any occasion. We just want people to enjoy our food and have a good time.”

Cllr Creek said: “It is great to see the number of small businesses take residence in Newquay.

“Members of the extended family are involved, and the food is exceptional. I wish them well for their first summer season in Newquay.”
