BEN Aaronovitch, author of the best-selling “Rivers of London” series, has visited Cornwall for a series of speaking events, writes Alex Duff.

One of the venues was St Austell Library where the writer spoke at a free event organised in association with independent bookshop Hurley Books in Mevagissey.

Ben answered questions about his writing career, which spans novels, novellas, graphic novels and TV. His 2011 debut novel “Rivers of London” saw him rise up the bestseller list.

Among Ben’s many answers, he said: “I love local history libraries. If I were to set a book in Cornwall, the first thing I’d do is find a local history library. I want people to read my books and get something they can’t get from Wikipedia.”
