TRURO bar Vertigo has reopened following a significant renovation, and marks the occasion by launching a new events series hosted in the drawing room.

The fun kicks off in time for Christmas with a trio of December drinks experiences. On Saturday December 20, guests can enjoy a cocktail tasting menu, including a welcome glass of Camel Valley wine followed by five expertly crafted mixes paired with thoughtful bites.

On Monday, December 22, award-winning sommelier Elly Owen guides guests through six hand-picked festive wines, ideal for pairing with seasonal favourites and celebrating in style.

And on Saturday, December 27, attendees can learn the art of the martini, from Espresso to Pornstar, testing their skills in a friendly cocktail challenge. The venue’s refreshed design honours the building’s Georgian heritage, carefully preserving period features which are complemented by handpicked antiques, and a timeless Farrow & Ball colourway throughout. The drawing room is available for private hire and comes complete with service from the expert bartending team.

Operations director Byron Kirkpatrick says: “Vertigo has been a part of Truro’s hospitality scene for many years. Our refurbished space combines a relaxed, grown-up atmosphere with the character of the building, making it a welcoming spot for morning coffee, after-work drinks or special celebrations.

“The new drawing room also offers the perfect setting for private events, giving the space a fresh lease of life and opening new possibilities for people to come together.”
