A DOG was rescued after falling down a cliff at Crantock on Thursday afternoon.

Newquay and St Agnes Coastguard search and rescue teams, Newquay RNLI Lifeboats and Holywell Bay Lifeguards attended the incident at Kelsey Head at 12.15pm.

The Coastguard rescued the injured dog using a technical rope rescue.

Newquay Coastguard said: “Once the dog had been located, with the lifeboat standing by offshore a technical rope rescue was rigged up and a technician was lowered down to the dog’s location.

“Although injured, the dog was successfully recovered back to the top of the cliff before being reunited with their owner.

“We would like to remind people to keep their dog on the lead whilst on the coast path, no matter how well behaved they normally are.”
