THE A30 is currently closed both ways near Hayle following a multiple-vehicle accident which is said to have caused serious injuries.

The incident was reported at around 11am, with traffic slowing between the A3047 (Camborne West, Treswithian) and the B3301 at Carwin Rise near the Loggans Moor roundabout in Hayle.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said the incident was “ongoing” and drivers are advised to avoid the area.

“Emergency services are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the A30 at Connor Downs, Hayle,” he said.

“It was reported to involve multiple vehicles. Serious injuries have been reported.

“The road has been closed in both directions and is likely to remain so for some time.”
