This Victorian school up for auction comes with planning permission to become homes and was designed by a “renowned” Cornish architect.
Pool Board School, in Redruth, dates back to 1896 and is believed to have been designed by Silvanus Trevail, who was the “most prominent” Cornish architect of the 19th century, having worked on the famous Carbis Bay Hotel, Headland Hotel in Newquay, and Temple’s church restoration.

The school was built from traditional local materials, including Delabole slate and granite.
The Grade II listed property retains many period features throughout, such as the original bell-cot.
The building currently has planning permission to be redeveloped into four homes, which will provide more than 8,800 square feet of living space, along with landscaped gardens and off-road parking.

The property is being sold by estate agents Kivells for a guide price of £250,000.
Pool Board School will be sold via public auction at 7pm on Wednesday 26 April 2023 at Lifton Strawberry Fields.
The agent described the building as “a detached and imposing Grade II listed former school that now boasts planning permission for conversion into four substantial dwellings.”
