POPULAR Padstow features today as the Voice continues its serialisation of the travel book, Cornwall Favourites For One And All!: A Quick Guide To Good Places To Visit Across The County.
Voice journalist Andrew Townsend, the author of the book, says: “Having previously visited the superb south and wonderful west of the county, we are now following the magnificent north coast of Cornwall.
“This coast has plenty to offer visitors with resorts, including Newquay and Perranporth, and amazing scenery.
“With the hot weather we’ve been having lately, the coast which faces the Atlantic Ocean is a good place to head to with its cooling sea breezes.”
Padstow pulls in thousands of visitors at the height of the tourist season.
The streets around the fishing harbour can become very busy. However, the town is more than capable of welcoming each wave of visitors with a smile.
There’s plenty to enjoy in Padstow, from trips on speedboats to music on the quayside. One of the attractions beside the water is the National Lobster Hatchery which is involved in marine conservation work.
Meanwhile, you can cycle on the Camel Trail towards Wadebridge, you can walk out along the edge of the Camel estuary taking in the various beaches as you go or you can catch the passenger ferry across to Rock.
There are, of course, plenty of places to eat and drink in the town, known for its long association with celebrity chef Rick Stein.
Next time, we will be visiting Wadebridge, a pleasant town on the banks of the River Camel, and the Royal Cornwall Showground.

Our extensive tour around the county, taking in well-known spots but also lesser-known locations, offers something for everyone, from brilliant beaches, remote moorland, storm-beaten cliffs and scenic rivers to historic towns, pretty villages, mining heritage sites and visitor attractions.
