A YOUNG horse rider has been selected by a youth organisation to represent them on a prestigious trip.
Yasmine Boother from Newquay has been selected by the Pony Club, which focuses on promoting horsemanship and equestrian sports for young people, as one of three of its representatives to travel to China in June.
The 21-year-old, who is a member of Little Margate Equestrian Pony Club in Bodmin, will be visit Pony Club centres and the prestigious Equuleus Equestrian complex.
Yasmine has been riding horses for the past 14 years ever since her grandfather Roger Lake took her to the Spirit of the Horse Show at the Royal Cornwall Showground.
A spokesperson for Little Margate Equestrian Pony Club said: “We are very proud and excited that our Pony Club member Yas has been selected to travel to China for a once in a lifetime trip with the Pony Club.
“Yasmin had to go through a lengthy application process and then be interviewed and we are so proud to say she has been selected.
“Yasmine and two other Pony Club members from other areas will be heading to China to visit Pony Club centres and to visit the prestigious Equuleus Equestrian complex.
“They will get to tour world famous landmarks like the Forbidden City and explore the rich history of Chinese horsemanship, art and the modern equine industry.”
