A MAJOR search was carried out after concerns were raised for the welfare of a vulnerable woman in the Holywell Bay area on Saturday morning.

Newquay RNLI Lifeboats, Newquay and St Agnes Coastguard rescue teams, police and ambulance services attended the incident at 11.10am.

Holywell Beach lifeguards and members of Holywell Bay Surf Life Saving Club also assisted in the search.

She was found at around 12.15pm and left in the care of health professionals.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called following concern for the welfare of woman in the Holywell Bay area.

“Officers worked with partner agencies to locate the woman.

“She was found and left in the care of health professionals.”
