The parade was organised by Truro Business Improvement District (BID) and took inspiration from by Aladdin, the Hall for Cornwall’s 2025 Christmas show this year. Santa’s sleigh was followed by dance groups, musicians, circus performers and a selection of small City of Lights lanterns made and carried by local families.
The parade marked the start of the first of four Wednesday late-night shopping evenings, plus a final event on Monday December 22. Many shops will be open until 9pm, as will markets on Lemon Quay and Boscawen Street, and the main shopping streets will be traffic-free.
Elise Alma, chair of sponsor Coodes Solicitors, said: “Truro truly knows how to embrace the season, and we're eagerly looking forward to enjoying the vibrant atmosphere and festive energy that fills the city."
