RAF St Mawgan engineers have been showing off their handiwork after undertaking essential maintenance on an iconic light armoured vehicle.

On Thursday 7th May, members of Cornwall's Army Museum at Bodmin Keep visited RAF St Mawgans Engineering and Logistics Squadron (ELS) for familiarisation driving on their Ferret light armoured vehicle and have a Station visit. At the end of the visit they drove the Ferret back to Bodmin in a convoy.

Personnel from the Engineering and Logistics Squadron took colleagues from the Cornwall Army Museum at Bodmin Keep for a spin in the Ferret vehicle after fixing its brakes.

They drove the Ferret back to Bodmin Keep in a convoy following the visit where the vehicle will go back on display.

Flight Lieutenant Danny McNamara said: “It was a privilege to help give the Ferret a new lease of life on behalf of Bodmin Keep.

“Hopefully the work completed will keep it running for generations to come.”

The maintenance work follows the squadron delivering a series of STEM workshops at Bodmin Keep as part of its school holiday programme.
