Saturday saw Redruth host a vibrant festive day of fun. During the afternoon visitors were able to wander around a whole host of market stalls while enjoying plenty of live music.

Redruth Wassail put on an evening of traditional singing and dancing throughout the town. As the evening drew near the children’s latern parade began which saw a buoyant crowd line the streets to watch on.

Father Christmas headed up the parade, while representatives from the likes of Redruth School and Redruth Youth Council made their way down Fore Street.

Once arriving at the Miner Statue, Redruth Carol Choir helped enhance the atmosphere of the occasion, before Redruth Mayor Cllr Stephen Barnes and Chair of the Redruth Charity Trust Chris Hailey switched-on the lights.

The traditional mummers play was the last part of the day’s festivities
