A Cornish library will be holding a drop-in session on Monday, October 20 as part of Get Online Week.
The event will be taking place at Redruth Library and Information Service, which is a registered Digital Inclusion Hub, from 10am to 4pm.
The overarching theme of the event will be ‘Try One Thing’ and attendees will be able to take part in numerous activities, including playing a game or puzzle, taking a digital photograph, connecting with friends and family, watching a ‘how-to’ video on YouTube, listening to music, or completing a QR code treasure hunt to win a prize.
If attendees have their own device, but don’t know how to use it, they are invited to bring it in for a ‘get to know your device’ session with a member of the team.
Charlotte Williams, Redruth Town Clerk, said: “Redruth Library are delighted to be a part of this national event, aimed at encouraging reluctant individuals to take a first step to experience the online world.”
NHS England will also be in attendance to demonstrate the NHS App, how to use it and the benefits.
Jolene Turner, senior library officer at Redruth Library, said: “The session will be friendly and informal, helping to demystify the digital world by starting with fun activities. No experience with technology is necessary, and there will be free tea and cake!”
