A RAF St Mawgan service personnel’s swimming success certainly was not a stroke of luck.
Flight Lieutenant Haydn Maclean’s talent shone through after powering her way to medals at the prestigious Inter Services Swimming Championships held in Portsmouth from July 7 to 11.
Maclean delivered an outstanding performance across multiple events competing against strong contenders from the Army and Navy.
Her highlights included second place in the 50 metre freestyle, third place in the 200 metre individual medley, first place in the women’s 6x50 metre freestyle relay and first place in the mixed 6x50 metre freestyle relay.
Flight Lieutenant Maclean said: “I had a fantastic time in Portsmouth representing the RAF at the Inter Services Swimming Championships.
“It’s always an honour to be selected for events like this, and brilliant to reconnect with teammates from across the RAF.”
A spokesperson for RAF St Mawgan said: “This stellar performance reinforces the RAF’s commitment to sporting excellence and camaraderie across the services.”
