PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Premises licence applications

NEWQUAY: AN application for the granting of a variation to a premises licence has been applied for by the operator of a café near a railway station.

Saltd Surf Collective Ltd submitted a licence application for the granting of a new premises licence for their venue at The Station Cafe, Newquay Train Station, Station Concourse, Station Approach, Newquay, TR7 2NG.

As part of the present requirements for the licensing of the sale and consumption of alcohol, businesses are required to advertise their proposals in a local newspaper in order that residents can be informed and make representations in respect of it.

The variation would, if granted, Include the sale of Alcohol, on and off premises, play recorded music, show live music and performance acts.

The applicant added in their public notice: “We intend to improve the offering at the Station cafe by being able to serve alcohol no earlier than 9am, Sunday to Friday and 8am Saturday.

“With the intent to then open in the evening being able to host events, like open mic night, comedy nights poetry night, and pop-up food menu evenings. The intent is to create a fun new community bar in Newquay.”
