NEWQUAY’S parish church is inviting people to an afternoon tea to help raise funds for charity.

St Michael’s Church is hosting the fundraiser in aid of Breast Cancer Now on Sunday, August 17 between 12pm and 2pm.

Churchwarden Rachel Craze with the support of the Parochial Church Council is organising the fundraiser as she was first diagnosed in January 2000 aged just 31 and was diagnosed again in 2023. Members of the congregation have also been personally affected either themselves or their family.

Mrs Craze said: “Breast Cancer Now is a charity that holds a profound significance for many within our community.

“Breast cancer has touched the lives of countless individuals, and here at St Michael's, many of our beloved members, their families, and friends have been personally affected by this disease.

“It is a cause that resonates deeply with us all, and we believe that by coming together, we can make a meaningful difference in the fight against it.

“We warmly invite people to join us for an afternoon of delicious treats, warm company, and shared purpose. People’s presence and support will be invaluable in helping us contribute to Breast Cancer Now's incredible work in research, support, and awareness.

“Everyone is welcome, and we encourage people to bring their family and friends. Together, we can offer hope and support to those impacted by breast cancer.

“We eagerly look forward to welcoming everyone.”
