LOCAL historian, photograph collector and Voice reader Barrie Doney has no shortage of pictures and stories from Cornwall’s past, which he shares with Voice Newspaper readers every week.

This week’s photograph shows a historic image of the Tregothnan Estate.

Barrie says of this photograph: “Tregothnan Estate on a creek of the Carrick Roads near Truro. Seat of the Boscawen family since 1334, home of Lord Falmouth. Known for growing tea and the gardens grow ancient camelias, magnolias and the biggest rhododendrons in the world. The gardens are open to the public during the year. Would be nice if the grade one listed house was open to the public.”
