THE tourism body in Newquay had a “successful” Royal Cornwall Show promoting the town as a year-round destination.

Staff from Visit Newquay, part of Newquay Town Council, spoke with hundreds of visitors over the two days the event was open.

The team ran an interactive stand featuring themed giveaways from member businesses, highlighting everything from family days out to couples breaks and outdoor experiences.

Visitors also got involved with a spin-the-wheel game, Newquay-themed quiz and free children’s activity packs, which “proved popular” throughout the show.

A spokesperson for Visit Newquay said: “Royal Cornwall Show was a brilliant opportunity for us to get out and talk about everything Newquay has to offer.

“We had some really positive conversations, caught up with familiar faces and met businesses interested in working with us.”
