More than 140 surfers from clubs across the UK battled cross three divisions - Open, Women’s and Juniors - in world-class conditions. While water pollution from a sewage spill resulted in RNLI lifeguards red-flagging the beach on Sunday afternoon, enough heats had been completed to determine both the champions and the divisional rankings.
Newquay Boardriders dominated, winning all three divisions to secure the overall club champion title with 206 points. St Agnes Surf Lifesaving Club A came second with 178 points; Porthleven Surf Club A scored 168 points to come joint third with Croyde Surf Club A, and Bude Waveriders A completed the top five with 156 points.
