A MP has laid into the Cornish branch of Reform UK after calling them out in parliament for attacking plans to freeze Russian assets.
Noah Law, the MP for St Austell and Newquay, stated the links between Reform UK and the Kremlin are “direct” and accused the political party of being “traitors in turquoise.”
The official Facebook page for Reform UK in North Cornwall posted on December 12 in support of the far-right government of Italy’s opposition to the EU plan to finance the Ukraine war using 210 billion Euros of frozen Russian assets.

Mr Law’s speech in the House of Commons comes as the Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has threatened to seize £2.5 billion from Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, following his sale of Chelsea FC, to support the Ukrainian front.
The EU has subsequently agreed a €90bn loan for Ukraine after failing to agree on using frozen Russian assets valued at €210billion.
Mr Law stated in the House of Commons: “War and Russian brutality first came to Ukraine in 2014, and whilst Ukrainians knew that it never left, I think it fair, Madam Deputy Speaker, to say that we did forget our friends in Ukraine were at war.
“That is until 2022 and, since then we've witnessed the heroism of the Ukrainian people and the savagery of Putin's regime.
“In case it was not devastatingly clear, this is not just Ukraine's fight. It's a contest for the security of Europe and for the integrity of the international order, because the Britain I know has always stood on the side of the underdog.
“We are in a phase of hybrid warfare. Other countries like Poland and Estonia are calling a spade a spade, and it's time we do so too.
“One does not have to turn very far for examples: warehouse fires, targeting of undersea cables, a strategy to recruit traitors in turquoise. These are not just random acts. These are deliberate steps in a campaign of destabilisation designed to test our resilience and erode our unity.
“And in case there are any illusions as to quite how direct the links between Reform UK and the Kremlin were, ask yourself why even local Reform supporters in Cornwall share posts attacking the plans to freeze Russian assets. Meanwhile, this Labour government is getting on with the job, as shown by the Prime Minister's announcement yesterday compelling Roman Abramovich to pay up.
“As a former banker, I know as well as anyone, Madam deputy speaker, the importance of a rules-based order. But it's precisely that fact that we're engaged in hybrid warfare that means I have absolutely no qualms with these assets being used to help support Ukraine.
“I also greatly welcomed the new probe into foreign interference in British politics, which will investigate how foreign agents target and subvert our political process.
“Madam deputy speaker, by next July, this just this phase of war will have lasted longer than the First World War and it's cost the European economy more than $4 trillion, and with barely a tenth of that being spent on support for Ukraine.
“Madam Deputy Speaker, I'm not a defence or security specialist, I'm not even a banker anymore, but I can tell you that this war is a war that Europe cannot afford to lose.”
Newquay Porth and Tretherras Cornwall councillor Kevin Towill has hit back calling Mr Law stating his comments show the Labour Party is “losing the argument.”
Cllr Towill said: “This is pretty desperate stuff. The moment you hear the words “Russia” and “Kremlin” thrown around, you know they’re losing the argument.
“Why bother debating policy when you can just accuse your opponents of being Russian assets?
“It wasn’t that long ago Labour politicians were questioning whether President Trump was a Russian asset. You don’t hear many making that accusation anymore, I wonder why?”
