What a week in Newquay. I've been out soaking up our fantastic community spirit, from high street chats to rockpool adventures. It has been great seeing our town full of visitors and local alike this half term. On Thursday, I walked the town centre with Mark from Newquay BID, meeting businesses and admiring our vibrant new murals. Our BID and town council partnership keeps delivering - think Christmas lights, Zombie Crawl, and monthly markets enhancing the life of our high street and supporting local businesses.

We'll be doing monthly walkabouts - want a visit? Just shout. The weekend was packed with community magic. The free L&K Travel event on Killacourt was a hit with families, while Newquay Orchard's 10th anniversary BBQ celebrated a decade of this green gem in our town. Huge thanks to their brilliant team.

Half-term meant family time, so we joined Big F-T's Rockpool Adventures at Tolcarne. Karl's team had us enthralled - crabs, starfish and endless wonder. It's a must-do this summer for all families. Thank you Karl and team. From hardworking business owners to dedicated volunteers and families making memories, you make Newquay special. Got ideas to make our town even better? I'm all ears. Here's to another great week.

Phil Trebilcock’s Harbour View

After a bright start to the week it is rather changeable now. It will be fresher and there will be a few showers . It was very busy around the town and the harbour last week. Restaurants and boat trips were doing well. A couple of gigs have been away for minor repairs. Two more are on way home from the Scillies. There are plenty of Cornish King Crabs catching as well. This Saturday is possibly Quiz & “Sheep Racing “ evening at 8pm.

Thought for the Week: “In the school of knowledge, there is no graduation “
