A man died in a private aircraft crash at Truro Aerodrome yesterday [Sunday].

Police confirmed that the man was the sole occupant of the aircraft, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by members of the emergency services.

The unlicensed aerodrome is located approximately three miles west-north-west of Truro.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were notified at around 3.20pm on Sunday, September 3 to reports of a private aircraft crash at Truro Airfield. Emergency services attended the scene.

“A single male occupant of the aircraft was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

“The Air Accident Investigation Branch were notified and are investigating the incident.”
