THE Lions Club of Truro is starting a new initiative to collect urgently needed items to be sent to the people of Ukraine. Members will be present at Tresemple Farmyard Market, on St Clement’s Hill just past Penair School, on Saturday, February 7 between noon and 1pm.

All donations will be very gratefully received. Items in particular demand and first aid bags and kit, sleeping bags, generators, power banks, emergency thermal blankets, nappies and baby formula, over-the-counter medication, finger monitors and ice packs.

These will be sent to the Cornwall & Devon Sending Love to Ukraine hub for shipping.

This will be the first date in what is hoped will be a regular occurrence.
