FAMILIES are invited to enjoy a fun-filled Easter egg‑stravaganza in Newquay.
Newquay Town Council is staging a free packed day of Easter‑themed activities at the Killacourt on Saturday, April 4 between 10am and 4pm.
The community event will include an Easter Egg Hunt with a chocolate egg for every child with alternatives available, Easter storytelling sessions with Hotch Potch Performance, face painting, mini fairground rides, an Easter Trail, garden games, outdoor play, and a children’s disco from the bandstand.
Alongside the Egg-stravaganza, the BIG Newquay Market, hosted by Cornwall Shop Small in collaboration with Newquay BID, will be on the Killacourt throughout the day, showcasing a variety of products from local artisans and makers.
Families can also enjoy two free town trails running throughout the school holidays from April 7 to 18.
The Easter Trail invites families to collect a trail sheet from Newquay Library and Information Service and follow clues to discover hidden Easter egg posters in shop windows around the town. Completed sheets can be returned to the library for a small Easter treat.
The Golden Rocks Hunt challenges children to keep an eye out for one of 50 golden rocks hidden across Newquay.
Any rock found can be taken to Newquay Library and Information Service to be exchanged for an Easter treat, which have been donated by Sainsbury’s Newquay.
There are prizes for children aged 12 and under with chocolate alternatives available.
Mayor Cllr Drew Creek, said: “Our team is pulling out all the stops. I’m look forward to seeing everyone. It promises to be a great day of lots of fun for the family.
“Full details and timings are available on the Visit Newquay website.
“Please note that Newquay Library and Information Service is closed on Sundays.”
