VICTORIAN falconers will be in residence at the Walled Garden at the National Trust property of Trelissick during May half-term.
Raphael Historic Falconry will conduct flying displays with a collection of beautiful birds at 11am, 1pm and 3pm from Wednesday, May 27, to Sunday, May 31.
Visitors will discover why hawks and falcons were a common feature at grand country estates like Trelissick, find out more about hawking for the table, and hear tales of avian folklore. When they’re not flying, the birds will be at rest in the traditional Hawk Mews, open from 10am to 4.30pm.
Also during half-term, the shifting architectural developments of Trelissick will be explored in the ‘Building Trelissick’ exhibition in the house and stables, with a free children’s trail throughout the garden. Normal entry fees apply.
