A CORNISH musical theatre company is preparing to bring one of the most moving love stories to local audiences with GHOST: The Musical.
For Bodmin Musical Theatre Company, staging the production is an opportunity to bring another ambitious musical to local audiences without the need to travel outside Cornwall to experience large-scale musical theatre.
Based on the much-loved 1990 Academy Award-winning film, GHOST: The Musical tells the unforgettable story of Sam and Molly, a young couple whose lives are changed forever by a tragic event. What follows is an emotional story of love, loss and a bond so powerful that not even death can break it.
Taking the leading role of Sam Wheat is Gage Gosling, a long-standing member of Bodmin Musical Theatre Company who has since gone on to become a professional actor. He will be joined by fellow professional actor Joshua Lamb, who takes on the pivotal role of Sam’s best friend and colleague, Carl Bruner.
Featuring music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, alongside the iconic ‘Unchained Melody’, the stage musical combines romance, humour, suspense and the supernatural, bringing the famous story to life in an entirely new way.
Behind every performance are months of rehearsals and preparation involving performers, musicians, technicians, creatives and volunteers, all working together to bring the production to the stage.
The production will open at The Beat in Bodmin on Friday, September 4 at 7.30pm, followed by two performances on Saturday, September 5 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
It will then transfer to St Austell Arts Centre, with a performance on Friday, September 11 at 7.30pm and two further performances on Saturday, September 12 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.
Tickets are available online from TicketSource, by calling the TicketSource Box Office on 0333 666 3366, or in person from Mad Hatter’s Tea Rooms in Bodmin.
