The world’s largest Pride flag was paraded though Penzance town centre on Saturday (September 12) as the highlight of Penzance Pride. The LGBTQ+ march began in Market Jew Street, processed down Chapel Street and finished on the Promenade, where entertainment, refreshments and information stalls took place.
Col Sir Edward Bolitho, Lord Lieutenant of Cornwall, presented Cornwall Pride with the King's Award for Voluntary Service. Compere Layla Zee Susan then introduced an entertainment line-up including band Zalick, musician Giveusachip, drag queens Cinderfella and Roxie Moron, and singers Nathan Stubbings and Lady Scarlette Von B.
Penzance mayor Cllr Andy Law said: “It would be great to have Penzance Pride every week. Unfortunately, we can't, but what we can do is have Penzance Pride in our hearts, every day!”
