ORGANISERS of the popular Hayle Carnival are inviting people to step back in time for this year’s event.
Entries are invited to dress in costumes depicting various decades for the procession, which will get underway from the Recreation Ground on Saturday, June 13 at 6pm.

Ideas include the flapper dresses women wore dancing the Charlestown in the 1920s, the leather jackets worn by Rockers in the 1960s, the flared trousers hippies dressed in the 1970s and the track suits breakdancers donned in the 1980s.
The judging will take place en-route and the prize giving will be held after the carnival arrives back at the Recreation Ground at about 8pm.
There are various categories to enter including individual, small walking group for two to five people, large walking group for six or more people, vintage, unusual or fun vehicle, float and wheels powered by people, which includes bikes, scooters and skates.
A carnival after party will be held at the Rec Café, which will include live music, hot food, and a “family, friendly party time.”
A spokesperson for Hayle Carnival said: “Step back in time and join the fun.
“The carnival is creeping up on us so start getting those entries in.
“People can visit the Hayle Carnival website to download an entry form or follow the Google docs to complete online.
“We cannot wait to see everyone’s decades designs for this year’s theme.
“The half term is the perfect time to start planning your entry.”
The carnival is free to enter for all. The Recreation Ground will open on the day at 3.30pm.
