CITY centre roads were closed on the morning of Sunday, February 1 when police officers were called due to concern for the welfare for a woman in Truro’s River Street.

Devon and Cornwall Police were contacted at around 7.20am on Sunday following reports that the woman had accessed the roof of a building and was making threats to harm herself.

A local road closure was put in place for the entire morning while emergency services, including police negotiators, attended the scene.

A police spokesperson said: “The woman was brought to safety by emergency services and left in the care of health professionals.”

The road was reopened at around 1.10pm.
