A community-minded resident in St Enoder has been commanded for her efforts in the parish.

Wendy Glanville has received an honorary service award from St Enoder Parish Council.

Cllr Charlotte Cowburn, the council’s vice-chairman, presented Wendy with the accolade at the Annual Assembly on Tuesday, April 9.

Wendy has been involved with many groups over the years including Wesley Playgroup, Indian Queens Band, Indian Queens Half Marathon, the Community Choir, Indian Queens and District Carnival and the Youth Football Team. 

She also organised celebrations for the Queen’s 90th birthday and the Diamond Jubilee. 

Wendy has additionally raised money for numerous charities and good causes including running the London Marathon for Cornwall Air Ambulance. 

Cllr Cowburn said: “Wendy is a most worthy winner of the award.”

Grants were also presented at the Annual Assembly to Indian Queens Under-Fives Pre-School, St Enoder Pantomime, Fraddon and Penhale Enhancement, Aspire Academy Trust, Indian Queens Youth Football and Man Down Cornwall.
