THE community is being invited to help shape a new multi-million-pound activity centre being built in Newquay.

Hendra Holiday Park is appealing to residents to put forward their ideas for its Newquay Rocks Family Activity Centre, which is due to open in the summer.

The new year-round and wet-weather activity centre will include a family climbing facility featuring 15 climbing walls, a three-storey soft play area, gym, community event space, a café and birthday party rooms.

A spokesperson for Hendra said: “We’re asking the people of Newquay for their thoughts to help us create a building that will be a great fit for the community.

“Climbing walls, soft play, a gym, party rooms and flexible community space we want to know what matters most to local families. Somewhere kids can explore and celebrate, while parents and grandparents relax with a coffee. Whatever the weather.

“People’s feedback really matters to help us make Newquay Rocks something special for everyone.

“Everyone who completes the survey will be in with the chance of winning a climbing a soft play session for four children.”

Newquay Rocks Family Activity Centre, which will be open to the public as well as people staying at Hendra, will also be used as a new community space for Scouts Cornwall.

Hendra Holiday Park is embarking on the strategic development to extend its trading season, diversify income, create high-quality jobs, and “deliver lasting community benefits.”

The facility will be supported by essential infrastructure upgrades including improved parking, lighting, security, weather resilience, and energy efficiency, enabling core facilities including the Oasis Fun Pool to operate beyond the current seasonal window.

The activity centre will be powered by Hendra Holiday Park’s existing 1.5MW solar farm and 400kW biomass system.
